Shrike Ops builds acoustic sensors for directional drone detection.

The problem

Drones are cheap and dangerous. A $1K drone can cause $10M+ of damage.

Current acoustic detection methods struggle in noisy soundscapes like airports and live events. Active detection methods like radar are expensive and beacons for attack.

What we are building

Directional acoustic drone detection that works in noisy soundscapes.

By combining hardware and software filtering, our microphones can passively identify drone targets at greater distances than current options.

Why acoustic

Detection methods like radar are expensive and draw attention to the assets you're trying to protect. Many of the drone breakthroughs in Ukraine have been achieved by first taking out the radars and then exploiting the opening.

Acoustic sensors are passive, light, and cheap. They can be man-portable, easily deployed, and used in arrays for greater protection.

The company

Shrike Ops is 1000033630 Ontario Inc., a Canadian company based in Belleville, Ontario. It was founded by a Canadian-Australian who served in the Australian Army with NATO forces in Afghanistan. We design for Canadian conditions (cold, wind, geese).

The roadmap

The goal is air littoral dominance. It comes in two parts.

Part one is detection: find the drones. That is the work now.

Part two is interception: safely disable the drones. That work follows.
